The first few months of 2024 were marked by uncertainties stemming from the ongoing Israel conflict, which had a considerable effect on global trade and maritime operations. Similar to others in the industry, Balancia encountered various disruptions, including interrupted trade routes, altered port schedules, delays in the supply chain, and obstacles in crew mobility. Nonetheless, we chose not to allow these challenges to influence our year. 

With unwavering commitment, effective problem-solving, and strong collaboration with our clients and partners, we put in relentless effort to reduce the impacts. In May, Balancia started to pick up momentum once again. The dedication and resilience of our team enabled us to shift the momentum, paving the way for progress in the second half of the year.

Boosting Vessel Operations: Pointing out Dry Docking 

In 2024, Balancia successfully managed dry docking services for six vessels, marking a significant achievement. The process of dry docking is an essential component of ship maintenance, since it guarantees that vessels continue to be seaworthy and in accordance with international laws. 

Balancia provided dependable assistance to shipowners by coordinating hull inspections, overseeing system repairs, and managing timely operations. These projects showcased our capacity to deliver customized solutions while upholding the utmost standards of service. The trust which our clients have in us for these important tasks highlights our standing as a reliable port agency partner.

Broadening Our Presence Throughout Indonesia 

This year, Balancia has successfully expanded its port agency services to encompass almost all major ports throughout Indonesia. From the vibrant ports of Jakarta to the essential shipping centres in Sulawesi and Kalimantan, our presence has expanded notably. 

This expansion embodies our commitment to serve as a comprehensive solution for shipowners and operators traversing Indonesian waters. Through seamless coordination, local expertise, and 24/7 assistance, we have enabled vessels to operate efficiently all over the archipelago.

Strengthening Industry Connections: Becoming a Member of FONASBA 

In 2024, Balancia achieved another important milestone by joining the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents (FONASBA). This accomplishment, which came after our longstanding relationship with BIMCO, solidified our role as a major participant in the marine sector.

Becoming a member of FONASBA reflects our dedication towards upholding international standards in ship agency operations.
